About the Celebration of Life/Alger County CHAMP Fund
Celebration of Life has become the signature event for breast cancer awareness and support in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
This fundraising event not only honors the many breast cancer survivors and supporters throughout Alger County and beyond, it yields funds to support the Foundation’s Alger County CHAMP Fund (CHemotherapy And Mammography Program) – which provides the following:

Financial grants to assist Alger County residents facing breast cancer with breast cancer treatment-related expenses including, but not limited to, insurance co-pays, doctor’s office visit fees, lost wages, prescriptions, transportation and childcare;
An Energy Relief grant program to assist Alger County residents facing breast cancer with utility bill arrearages;
An Angel Closet at Munising Memorial Hospital that provides free scarves, wigs, and other items to individuals suffering from chemotherapy-related hair loss;
A Caring & Sharing program which provides newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with information, resources, and a network of support.
