About the foundation

The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donor-supported organization. Programs and services are made possible through contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.

Founded in 2006, we began in Atlanta by teaming up with the Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence at Grady Health System. Otis Brawley, MD, Danielle’s former oncologist and currently the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Oncology and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, introduced Eric and Danielle to the need to support socioeconomically challenged individuals with breast cancer at Grady. The Foundation would then establish the Metro Atlanta Breast Cancer Angel Fund at Grady.

At the same time we also started an assistance program in Danielle’s hometown, Munising (Alger County), in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Alger County Chemotherapy and Mammography Program (CHAMP) provides assistance in the form of grants to individuals undergoing treatment for breast and other types of cancer.

In 2024, the Foundation made the decision to concentrate their efforts on Alger County. Although we are no longer operating in Atlanta, our mission will live on through the Danielle Beverly ANGEL Fund at the Grady Foundation. For those who wish to continue supporting the patients at Grady Cancer Center for Excellence, a donation can be made directly through this link.
