We’re kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a charity walk honoring lives touched by cancer!
Stake the Lake 2026
Presented by Pat’s Foods
Saturday, September 26th at 9:00am
Stake the Lake will begin at Munising Middle-High School (810 West M-28)
Registration will be in the gym and begins at 9:00am.
Program including Raffle / Silent Auction / 50/50 will all take place prior to the walk at 10:00am.
Walk to follow.
Register by August 28th and receive a free t-shirt.
Stake the Lake is a heartfelt event dedicated to celebrating the spirit of cancer survivors and
honoring the memory of loved ones who have been touched by cancer. We invite you to register to
walk with us and decorate a garden stake in tribute to someone special in your life.
Personalized garden stakes will beautifully line the bay. It promises to be a meaningful and
memorable morning you will not want to miss.
Proceeds from Stake the Lake benefit the Alger County Chemotherapy and Mammography
Program (CHAMP) Fund. Thanks to your generosity, this fund has awarded over $233,000 in
individual grants to help cover treatment-related expenses for Alger County residents battling cancer.
The CHAMP Fund also supports:
• A monthly Awareness Campaign focused on the life-saving importance of early detection.
• Scholarships for Munising High School and Alger County students since 2006.
• A $10,000 contribution that helped Munising Memorial Hospital purchase digital imaging
equipment—an investment that continues to enhance diagnostic care in our community.
